The History of Philosophy of Science

Philosophy of science sort of grew out of a movement in the early 1920s. It was thought that philosophy, period, was to give an organized account of how the sciences actually had been developed and what they said. All of that started to change when philosophers started to think more broadly about sciences. That is now being joined by an understanding of the way in which science fits within various aspects of society.
