Thiamine Deficiency in Alcohol Use Disorder Patients

Thiamine deficiency is very common especially in patients with alcohol use disorder. Up to 80% of those patients will have it probably because it occurs so quickly our stores are only two to three weeks. We tend to give 250 milligrams three times a day for three days to replete the thiamine levels. However there are no good studies on the correct dose.
