The Origins of Etruscan Words

About ten thousand brief inscriptions have survived in etruscan. Some of these words may have filtered down into the roman settlement to the south. And found their into later day latin, and eventually found their way into modern english. But what's really interesting here is the connection between the etruscans and the greeks. Of the total number of etruscan words which passed into later-day latin, about 25% came from greek origins. When nautical terms are taken into account, the proportion rises to 75%.
