Grief Work Is What Opens the Heart to Compassion for the Suffering of Others
Grief work is what opens the heart to comppassion for the suffering of others. When grief is not metabolise, it turns cold. We have forgotten how to keep the heart emptied and flowing. It isn't about pushing through the grief. It's about softening to the grief. That's what i call taking up the apprenticeship with is hottaway - come into a lifelong companionship. If i deny, i turn bitter. If i can companion grief, i can remember the bitter sweet which is a deepening and a ripening. And i think that's what leads to elderhood in the long run.
