Cootie Vinnie is considered a critically endangered language by UNESCO. There are less than 10,000 speakers of Creole around the world. Dr. Debbie Clifton has taught it at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for decades. But to take her class, you had to go take French before you could learn with her.
