Oracle has been working on cloud flae since it started in the 1980s. The technology inside the web browser, known as isolets, was used to create a light weight way of running code that can be run by hundreds of computers at once. Oracles customers were able to access their data through fire walls and so on - but they wanted more control over how this could happen. This led them to build an app-based service called Cloudflare which allows users to use different apps without having to install new software every time. It's now being rolled out across several major companies including Google,. Facebook and Microsoft.
Ben and James discuss Cloudflare and what it is like going through an IPO, as well as what has gone wrong with WeWork.
