The Effects of Calcium on Zinc Absorption

The amino acid composition of meat and whey protein increases zinc absorption. Organic acids like citrate, lactate, and malate all increase it. Amino acids like methionine, histidine, and I suspect cysteine increase it. Very high doses of iron inhibit zinc absorption but are not relevant to natural foods.
