Lucius Sergius Catalina, known to history as Cataline, attempted in 63 B.C. to kill the man behind the curtain. His half-baked scheme never got off the ground, but his story touches on nearly every major player in the subsequent years of civil war in Rome. The only rule was power by any means necessary, because once in power the rules could be changed and those who disagreed could be eliminated.
