CHAPTER

The Benefits of Walking for Insomnia

Based on your research, is there any connection between the time of day that you walk and the benefits that you receive? Walking early in the morning when the sunlight is up is a good thing from the point of view of setting your circadian rhythm. I also have a theory which I haven't been able to test but I think it's probably correct that walking at night now will help you sleep. Charles Dickens for example just to pick up on the insomnia theme for a moment was a famous insomnia. He walked at night for hours through the back streets of London would come home go to sleep at four or five in the morning and then write furiously during the course of the day.
