The conflict between the west and russia over ukraine is played out in the context of this situation. It's quite clear from that viegraph that many of the countries in eastern europe, and even countries like germany, are heavily dependent on russian natural gas. Of course, that gives the russians lots of political leverage in this crisis. And it makes it very difficult for us to put pressure on the rRussians.
