Construction first paused in 2019 following the collapse of a pedestrian bridge over in Florida, which resulted in several deaths and injuries. The same engineers who at the time were working on the Texas new Harbour Bridge. Construction then finally started again in 2021, but not long after that an independent study found there were still five key areas which were a cause for concern.
