The Tension in Government Over Immigration Policy
There is clearly a tension in government about where we're heading on how to control migration and overall the immigration policy. You've got a home secretary who seems isolated among cabinet colleagues. She's obviously secured one limited win, which is the ban on foreign student dependence under PhD level. But beyond that, could you see a scenario where in a few weeks time or a few months time things haven't changed? I think there is every chance that she could resign. And look, it's not for me to say what she may end up doing.
