How I Got a Job on an Institutional Desk
RBC Dominion Securities was generally considered the best bank at the time. I got in and got a job on the institutional desk. At the time, it was kind of funny because there was still a floor. Guys were still trading by hand. And these baskets that we started trading using the machine. They were something that the other traders didn't like necessarily at first. There was a fair amount of friction as these baskets would come rifling down the pipe and execute 35 or 100 or 300 orders at a time.
