The Importance of Downloads in Podcasting
If you're learning from it, networking with it and most importantly, having fun, then that's really the most important. One email about how much someone appreciates your podcast is worth thousands of downloads. After five years, my core audience is maybe 500 people. Most of us will never have that opportunity in an academic setting.
