How Many Tastes Do Your Tummy Have?
Taste would be when your tongue hits upon a chemical. The chemical is then sent as a message to your brain, and your brain says, that's sweet or that's sour. There are five tastes we all have: salt, bitter, sweet, sour and mami. That last one is a japanese word that means savory or hardy. Most people in the united states and europe didn't recognize it until just recently. It's a new taste that we've always had all along.
