Tony Blair tried to co-opt Isaiah Berlin as an intellectual ally shortly after he was made prime minister on just this topic. Is there a continuing relevance of his work now? Absolutely, I think his work becomes more and more relevant all the time. One very clear example of its relevance comes in his repeated and insistent opposition to all forms of certainty about the right way to live.
