When Biden first came into office in January 2021 it looked like the Trump administration was gonna let new start expire. One of the first things Biden did one of the first foreign policy moves He made was got on the phone with Putin and agreed to extend this treaty So very naively, I thought this was a good sign of things to come between the US and Russia But then it became pretty clear Rather quickly that Biden was gonna be very hawkish on Russia,. but at least he had the sense to extending this treaty.
