The Pilippino American War - The Third Asiatic Invasion
Pilipino immigration reached a peak around the 19 thirtis rate. White nativists and white labor unions lobbied congress to speed up the grant of independence for the philippines. And this resulted in the so called tidings mc duffy act of 19 34, which provided for the transition of the philippine commonwealth into a common territory. This transformed what was then an us Territory into a common land at that time. But it also provided a means for excludingphilippinos legally and keeping them out of the united states. They weren't actually having it any other way - they didn't want to be excluded from being part of America.
