New EU law hurts FOSS, GNOME 44 alpha, Chrome beats Firefox

Introduction

This week there's a new proposed law that would basically make open source software unusable in the EU. We also have an alpha for GNOME 44 which looks like a small release all things considered with nothing major in it and we have benchmarks showing how far Firefox has fallen compared to Ubuntu. Google's Fuchsia OS is being targeted by their recent job cuts and probably being on the chopping block. And we have a new cool distro called BlendoS plus a lot of other cool things.
