How Much Does Your Work Reflect Where You're Made?
I was just curious how much the composition of your work reflects the place it's physically made in. Most of the well-gown that I work with, the tree bark that I need to make the bark cloth is sustainably grown and harvested back home in Hawaii. A lot of my pigments do come from what is now called Oregon, and that's also where I was born. And so there's a lot of my personal history that is reflected within the colors that I use.
