The Haney's originally planned for this to be part of their science show. They believed that Falcon had crawled into the basket and was inside when it accidentally launched. A specialist at Colorado State University determined that with the measurements of the balloon that Richard gave the balloon could have lifted Falcon. The sheriff recommended that mayo me and Richard be charged with conspiracy contributing to the delinquency of a minor in attempting to influence a public servant. But luckily for Richard he was able to later find an attorney named David Lane.
