The Multiple Concussion Effect on Brain Structure
One of the big unanswered questions in concussion research is, to what extent does the historyof concussion affect the brain's ability to recover from subsequent injuries? In our study, we examined this question by using magnetic resinence imaging to measure the brain's changes. What we found was that despite these people having relatively normal clinical recovery, we found effects of multiple concussions a throt brain's mid line. Things like declines and srebal blood flow and alterations in white matter microstructure.
