Hardware in the Loop Testing

In safety critical industries, it's often quite simply mandatory to have some kind of hardware in the loop testing. The more filters you can set up between your development process and your device being in the real world, the higher quality your software is going to be. But then again, Luca, this is the agile embedded podcast after all. So isn't it very contrary to the agile way of doing things to spend all this time setting up this complex hardware in theloop system? Oh, but it's not. Jeff, how can you do this to me? Educate me, please.
