There were Jews there, and some of them had converted to Christianity. Thousands of them had done it, after a particularly awful uprising against them in 1391. So they were called the conversos. They did that for all sorts of reasons, their own reason. But also, once they converted, they got access to all sorts of offices of states,. The Islam had... A lot of those people had converting to Christianity. They were called Mariskos. And then later on, the Inquisition turned its guns back on Christianity, as it started to do... Went for the cathars and it goes to the Protestants.
