Meditation is fundamentally centred in consciousness, yet the struggle to meditate occurs due to the obstructing processes of the mind. We have difficulty meditating because the mind is infused with the ego and doesn't want to meditate. The full annihilation of karma requires meditation as it's where we develop our true self. When you sit to meditate and your mind is stubborn, that is riti causing you to wander away. That's all the swirling waves, all the things that are going on inside of ourselves. And once the activity is gone, so is the mind. Then what is left is consciousness and spirit, perusha.
