Around 18 50, a guy in canada comes up with something that's not just a slightly better wick or a slightly more efficient lamp. With the right techniques, you can get it rom coal or oil - kerosene. Kerosene lit the world and save the whales. Now all these scientists are working on better ways to make light, and light is getting cheaper.
