Science Fiction - I Hate This World
A lot of chinese science fiction is positive. But writers can easily stray into territory the state would rather they didn't. In distopic novels, which are not quite as public as t v or journalism, writers are able to discreetly criticise the state while flying under the radar. And i think this is being repopularrized against the backdrop of the current protests that are going in hong kong.
