Thanksgiving Desserts

Claire, I just want to say as a huge pie lover, but I do think that pie is very tricky. And for people who are not regular pie makers to do that one time a year and have the dessert play this major role... It's in some way setting people up for dissatisfaction or unsatisfactory results. So my thought initially went to pumpkin cheesecake, which I feel like is kind of the obvious answer and the obvious pie alternative. However, I don't totally recommend that because I think it's a little heavy for Thanksgiving. None of the traditional Thanksgiving desserts are exactly light.
