The Importance of Carbon Capture in CCS
Chevron's Gorgon facility in Western Australia is a total disaster. A huge, huge volume of emissions has been added into the atmosphere that should have been captured by their gas processing facility. Chevron were asked to buy carbon offset for avoided emissions rather than capture them using CCS. The ones that are capturing properly get injected into depleted oil reservoirs to dislodge any remaining oil which can be extracted in burns.
