Oscar had been trying to solve a puzzle, this elaborate fantasy that his father gave to him before he died. And I think something to the along these lines we see with him testing every lock, that's part of where those intelligence islands would be. When you see people that live with his neuro diverse life is that they have the ability to lock onto tasks that fit within their hyper intelligence island.
