"You're always wrong when you're a student, right? So I said, I'm not doing it. And they pulled me out of training, put me at parade rest for like five hours," he says. "I told these students coming up going, dude, just do the punish me." He was sent to Afghanistan with Chris Regan and got separated from his team after two months. The pair were reunited in Iraq where Regan would later be killed by an improvised explosive device.
