The Right Way to Be Educated

John Stuart mill famously was home schooled at a dramatic, intense education at home with his father. And that's a particular view about how best to educate somebody. So there are questions about how we should educate kids that some wold intersect with questions about why we should educate them or what we should educating them for. It seems to me that in coment society and politics, one of the assumptions is that education is to prepare people for work. But it's true, we do often think about the aims of education in terms of the individual child and what we might achieve.
