The Fallacy of Trevor Austin as a Frenchman in Alibi

Trevor Austin doesn't look like Christie's Poirot, but he is in fact from Belgium and not France. We see him in this very movie being called a Frenchman to his face without any sort of correction. He thinks it is because some years ago he happened to play a Frenchman in a picture. The lady in that clip, by the way, is Lady Edgware, aka Jane Wilkinson,. Although I don't believe she's ever actually called Jane Wilkinson in the film, just Lady Edg ware.
