The Immigrant Analogies in the Anti-Racism Project

Boazian anthropologists were really, they thought a lot about US culture and they had a project of trying to intervene in US society. They're implicit and occasionally explicit model for what that looks like is European immigrants who are understood to be assimilating into US society. When it comes to really fully trying to confront racism in the United States, they're limited by this imagination of or modeling of the overcoming of racism on the model of an assimilating European immigrant.
