Is There a Failure to Present a Plan?

The Red Sox are in a position where their fans are skeptical and will remain so until they start being competitive again for playoff. I think we've had trouble kind of pinning down exactly how the Red Sox see themselves or how we see them. So is there a failure of sort of presenting a plan and saying, this is who we are and this is why we're doing these things?
