i think part of what arent's question in the book is, do you remember wt we read? Was it samon de beauvoir that talked about serious men? The serious men? Writes a rent saying, how is it possible we think of people who are willing to sacrifice others an idea. But how is it that millions and millions of people were persuaded to that way of thinking? And started, essentially through ignorance, and i don't mean ignorance like through avoidance, became implicit in sacrificing people to an idean.
