Volunteerism
Volunteers are often about the quality of our work. We have a bigger mission than we can achieve with paid staff. If you have a tutor who's coming in as a volunteer, that's different from having someone come in as a paid staff member to tutor or to be a mentor. It's a different kind of relationship. And all of those things that are unique about volunteers get lost when we just continue to flatten them down to the numbers.
