Cooperative architecture practice is not common in the UK. It's a very high, capital intensive industry with huge amounts of risk and if time on site is an expensive commodity,. so things go wrong, people are looking for blame. We were pushing back against that when we set up just over 10 years ago. The cooperative model really stood out for us. I think all of this, the way that we're taught to do the practice of architecture, which is very different to the creative side that we're also stimulated to begin from., creates structures that are very rigid.
