The History of Crohn's Disease

In the 1800s, we were starting to get regional iliitis and terminal iliitis. And Ginsburg and often Hymer discovered that what would ultimately come to be known as Crohn's disease was a distinct disease from ulcerative colitis Ulcerative Colitis is located just at the end of the gastrointestinal tract but Crohn's affects gum-to-bum area. His name got affiliated with the disease, and this is actually quite a current topic in medical linguistics. It's an interesting debate as to whether this scientist's name should be attached to the disease. You can have discussions over if you somehow change their name once it gets applied to a disease.
