The History of Defect Detection Equipment

Hot boxes used to be a big problem for railroads. They had things like cabooses on trains, right? So some guy could look out over the whole train. But then again, we get roller bearings that makes hot boxes almost unheard of. You can't still have caboise because you've got to employ a guy and we don't want to do that anymore. And so ironically, some of the last ones were really like that kind of equipment.
