The Path to Loan Forgiveness

There are still several pathways that have been around for a little while and that ideally are working better now than they used to. One program in particular that we've done a lot of reporting around is called public service loan forgiveness which essentially promises forgiveness of your loans for working in public service after 10 years of payments. There's also interestingly part of the income-driven repayment plan that you can get into has always offered a promise for undergraduate borrowers that whatever is left over of your loans after 20 years the government will again cancel.
