The purpose of story is to offer us a vicarious experience so that we do not have to engage the danger ourselves. That's what I try to do with song as well, offer something that is instructive and supportive. The songs that are here today gone tomorrow are generally widgets for the industry but if you listen to a song like Bill Withers, lean on me.
