The act of transforming the world into something simply made out of objects is incredibly difficult. It's so difficult that we haven't been able to design machines that can do it at all. The idea that rationality or perception is somehow separate from or or superordinate to ah perception and emotion is just wrong. You can't even see the world without being gripped by your motivation and emotional states. We understand now that you can't even think without being motivated.
