The History of the Aztecs
The flower wars were highly theatrical and would have looked something like a madigra parade. As with most aztec warfare, the point wasn't to kill, but to capture prisoners for sacrifice. After a flower war, the skulls of executed prisoners were displayed as grisly trophies on enormous racks in the city of tenoste klan. The largest ever found was discovered at the main temple and contained over 650 skulls. And this ultimately is where the seeds of the whole empire's collapse would be sown.
