How to Get Results in Science
Edison is reported to have said something similar in relation to his work with battery, not the light bulb. He had thus made over nine thousand experiments in trying to devise this new type of storage battery but had not produced a single thing that promised to solve the question. Even accomplished inventors do not achieve results on the first few tries. In science, the goal is not lofty or ego based. You simply wish to know, to uncover, to discover and illuminate your own understanding. The scientific method allows you to proceed in a series of strategic steps on your path towards knowledge.
