Child benefit is payable to all households with children who are under 18 and in full time education. It's payable at £21.80 per week for your first child and £14.45 per week for the second, regardless of how many children you have. A family with four children would be entitled to £3,387 each year in child benefit payments. And that can of course make a significant difference to family finances.
