The Enembodied Mind
The embodied mind is really the name of a book I did many years ago with a neuroscientist, Francisco Varela. He was a very pioneering neuroscientist and biologist in many different ways. We developed this idea that we approach the mind through the whole body in its relationship to the environment. So for example, perception isn't an event that happens in the head. It's part of a relation to the world that involves acting,. moving your eyes, moving your head, moving your body, approaching things, moving away or changing the appearances.
