The Opposite of Schmidian Politics
I think Gramsci is like the opposite of Schmidian politics. It's not about a friend enemy distinction. It's about how to figure out who should be your enemy and how to make the people that shouldn't be your friends. And if you don't figure that out, it is on you. We have a lot of very serious problems right now, but it seems like in a way we don't actually feel the gravity of that responsibility. I guess that it's helpful what Owen said where you figure out that the judgment to make is whoShould be your friend. What then what you need to do is make them your friend. That's what it means to build hegemony.
