Introduction

In 1967 Lafayette Ron Hubbard, a 56 year old grandfather and father of seven who's only prior naval experience involved bombing an iron ore deposit, bought a small flotilla of ships. The story I'm about to tell is one of those reasons I can't quite hate Elrond Hubbard. He always did the thing that made him a super villain and in this case it was buying his own navy.
