I was very confused by parenting this child. And so many things clicked into place, which of course ignited my special interest energy. So that started a rabbit trail of learning about autistic girls. I remember I have a very distinct memory of sitting across from my husband and telling him I feel at peace in my body for the very first time in my life.
For individuals who've wondered if they are autistic (or know they are but haven't been formally diagnosed), it can be a complex journey to first decide whether or not to seek a formal autism diagnosis and then to learn how to restructure the way they see and interact with the world.
